DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01. Arrival in Kathmandu
After arriving in Kathmandu you will be picked up from airport representative and transfer to hotel. Presentation of the staff, briefing with the guides and verification of the equipment. We will serve authentic nepalese cuisine with cultural show in the evening.

Day 02. Kathmandu: sightseeing
Breakfast. In the morning, guided tour of Pashupathinath, a hindu sacred place. Hundreds of faithful and pilgrims gather on the sacred banks together with the holy men and onlookers. Continuing, Bhoudanath contrasts as a tibetan buddhist center and with its stupa, the largest in the country and surrounded by the tibetan market and the numerous monasteries, some of which will be visited. Boudanath is ideal for a lunch break. In the afternoon we visit the Swoyambhunath stupa, from which you can enjoy a view of the city and finally, the historic center with Durbar square, the home of the living goddess Kumari, the temples around and walk through the local markets (bazaar) of the historic center still passing by the temples to go to the hotel.

Day 03. Kathmandu: sightseeing
After breakfast we depart for a guided tour of Bakhtapur, a beautifully restored medieval city that retains a strong traditional character. Here art and cultural and social life are furnished with alleys, underpasses, courtyards, squares, temples and palaces. Break for lunch. In the afternoon we continue to the nearby city of Patan with its superb Durbar square, rich in architecture and the museum to visit the old royal palace before returning to accommodation.

Day 04. Kathmandu to Kyirong Border (2,600m/8,530ft) by car
After an early breakfast, begin your scenic drive from Kathmandu towards the Kyirong border. The journey takes you through the beautiful nepalese countryside, offering stunning views of the landscapes. Upon arrival at the border, complete the necessary immigration formalities on the nepali side, before crossing the bridge and continuing to the chinese immigration post for further processing. After clearing the border formalities, continue your drive towards Kerung town (2,600m/8,530ft), where you will check in at your hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 05. Kyirong (2,600m/8,530ft) to Tingri/Lhatse (4,350m/14,272ft) by car
After breakfast, drive uphill towards the high plateau of Tibet, offering a unique and serene landscape that gives you the feeling of standing on the “roof of the world.” Weather permitting, enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the majestic himalayan ranges, including mount Cho Oyu (8,201m/26,906ft) and mount Xishapangma (8,012m/26,288ft). Along the way, stop to admire the picturesque Pikucho lake before continuing to your destination. You will overnight at a hotel in either Tingri or Lhatse.

Day 06. Tingri/Lhatse (4,350m/14,272ft) to Shigatse (3,900m/12,795ft) by car
After breakfast, continue your scenic drive, crossing the Gyatchu La pass (5,220m/17,126ft), the highest pass on the route to Lhasa via Lhatse. Along the way, enjoy the stunning views of the tibetan plateau. At Lhatse, the road to mount Kailash forks to the west, but you will continue towards Shigatse.

Day 07. Shigatse (3,900m/12,795ft) to Gyantse (3,950m/12,960ft) and Lhasa (3,650m/11,975ft) by car
After breakfast, enjoy a morning visit to the Tashilhunpo monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama, in Shigatse. Afterward, continue your scenic drive, passing by the Brahmaputra river (Yarlung Tsangpo) towards Lhasa. The journey offers stunning views of the tibetan landscape.

Day 08. Lhasa: sightseeing
In the morning, visit the impressive Potala palace, a UNESCO World heritage site. This 13-story palace, towering at 117m/384ft, served as the seat of the tibetan government and the residence of the Dalai Lamas until 1959. The palace contains over 100 rooms and offers panoramic views of the city. In the afternoon, visit the Sera monastery (Se ra Theng chen gling, “rose hedge”) founded in 1419. Sera is famous for its daily philosophical debates held by the monks. It is one of the most important monasteries in Tibet, belonging to the Gelugpa school. Return to Lhasa.

Day 09. Lhasa: sightseeing
In the morning, visit the Drepung monastery, founded in 1416 and one of the largest monastic complexes in Tibet before 1959. Drepung served as the seat of the Gelugpa (yellow hat) school. Also, visit the nearby Nechung temple, the seat of the tibetan state oracle until 1959, with exquisite frescoes. In the afternoon, visit the Jokhang temple, one of the most revered temples in Tibet, dedicated to Buddha Sakyamuni. Explore the Barkhor area, the historic center of Lhasa, and participate in the Kora (pilgrimage route) around the Jokhang. If open, you may also visit the Institute of tibetan Medicine near Barkhor.

Day 10. Lhasa (3,650m/11,975ft) to Shegar (4,200m/13,780ft) by car
After breakfast, begin your long drive to Shegar/Tingri via Shigatse. The journey takes you through the vast tibetan plateau, with scenic views along the way. Although it’s a long drive, the landscapes are stunning, and you will have the opportunity to stop for breaks and lunch en route. Arrive in Shegar in the late afternoon.

Day 11. Shegar (4,200m/13,780ft) to Kerung (2,600m/8,530ft) and Kathmandu by car
After breakfast, drive back towards the Kerung border. Enjoy the scenic drive as you retrace your route, passing through the tibetan countryside. Upon reaching the border, complete the necessary immigration formalities. Afterward, cross into Nepal, where your guide and transport will be waiting to take you back to Kathmandu.

Day 12. Final departure
You will have breakfast and you will be free until your departure. A representative will take you airport for your final departure.
